About Elma Smit

She hosts and moderates strategic conversations across business, leadership, sport and culture: executive summits, private client conferences, global sporting events and live broadcast.

The through-line is the same wherever she's working: conversations that are thoughtful, engaging and commercially useful.

Elma's career began in South African broadcasting, where she anchored music, entertainment and current affairs before moving to rugby for SuperSport.

In 2011 she became the first woman to report on a Rugby World Cup for the African broadcast giant. She has since worked across World Cups, global federations and broadcast for World Rugby, the International Cricket Council, BBC Sport, the International Skating Union and the British & Irish Lions, alongside a long-standing track record in corporate moderating, international conferences and delivering strategic content for brands including HSBC, Just Eat, Investec, Bank of America, Asahi, Land Rover and Ticketmaster.

She is a producer as well as a presenter. A distinction that matters, because it means she thinks about why a session exists before she thinks about how to host it.

In 2023, a Sports Documentary she served on as producer was nominated for an International Emmy. In 2020 she published ‘Become an Influencer’, a book on how creators build and monetise audiences.
